Name: Anithella Breesri, A.K.A Anitha
Where she lives: In the middle of Corus, Tortall, in a hedgewitch
shop ran by her, her mother, and her three other sisters.
Place of Birth: Corus, Tortall
Age, Date of
Birth: 17, March tenth
Occupation: Apprentice hedgewitch/healer
Status (noble, rich commoner, peasant,
priest, etc): Commoner
Locale (Inn of the Rogue or Little Court): Inn of the Rogue
Magic: Anitha's
magic is strong, and it keeps getting stronger as she grows older. She gets it from her mother. She is best at healing, and
she can heal pretty much anything, but it takes a long time, depending on how major the injury is. After she heals someone,
she tends to have major backlash, even if it wasn't a big thing. Depending on how much energy it took, she'll get tired, she'll
be unable to concentrate, she'll stumble and fall a lot, and her sight will go double every once in a while. Anitha was
trained to heal ever since she was five and her mother saw the full extent of her abilities. Her mother taught her everything
she knew, but when she was eight, she had surpassed her mothers knowledge. To cope with that, she will often, not telling
her mother, go to other healing stores and pretend to be a costumer, instead observing the hedgewitches. Her two sisters
who have the Gift, Mary and Della, sometimes get jealous at her strength, especially Mary, who is two years older. She thinks
she might get the strength from a distant relative, because she is stronger than everyone in her direct family. This annoys
her slightly, but she enjoys her Gift too much to really care. She loves healing, she loves the feeling you get when you are
mending a broken bone or curing the sniffles. She doesn't tend to like the backlash, but, since it doesn't last very long,
she thinks it is just an irritating side effect. Anitha's emotions are linked to her Gift in a strange way. For example,
when she is happy or excited, her Gift seems to get more powerful. At least, she doesn't feel the side effects as strongly
or as longly. This can work against her as well. When she is shocked at something, she cannot concentrate, and in the middle,
where concentrating is the toughest, she loses interest, leaving the wound half healed. When she is angry, she cannot heal.
At all. When she tries to call on her Gift in an angry state, it is almost like it is gone. She can see it, feel it, but she
cannot access it.
Family:
Mother Name: Bree Age: She says she's in her thirties, but Anitha doesn't
believe her. She looks more mid forties. Quick Summary of Looks: Tall, with hazel eyes, fair skin, and long, brownish-black
hair. Relationship: Anitha loves her mother dearly, but is terrified of dissipointing her in any way. She sneaks behind
her mothers back often, because she is frightened of what her mother would think of some of the things she does, like stealing.
Her mother is the driving force in her life, and is very blunt, good for when Anitha needs advice. Anitha is also ashamed
of her mother, since all of her sisters were born out of wedlock.
Father: Name: Unknown Age: Unknown Quick
Summary of Looks: Unknown Relationship: None
Sisters:
Name: Marith Breesri A.K.A Mary Age: Eighteen Quick
Summary of Looks: Tall, with fair skin, pure blue eyes and short yellow hair. Relationship: Mary and Anitha have a rocky
relationship. Mary gets jealous sometimes of Anitha's healing abilities, and Anitha thinks Mary, and her endless talk about
her betrothed, gets annoying. When Anitha was younger, however, they were very close. Anitha thinks that ended about a year
ago, and Mary thinks it ended when Anitha became "ma's pet". However, whenever Mary is crying about something (all the sisters
share a room), she is the first one to tell her it will be alright, and vise versa.
Name: Chasy Breesri Age: Twelve Quick
Summary of Looks:Average height with flaming red hair, freckled skin, and hazel eyes. Relationship: Chasy admires Mary,
so she isn't very tight with Anitha. She doesn't hate Anitha, quite the opposite. Anitha is her friend, but she thinks that
Anitha's stealing brings shame to the family. Chasy is pretty mellow most of the time, so Anitha teases her a lot, knowing
she won't respond. But somehow, Chasy always knows when Anitha is angry, and can find ways to cool down her temper.
Name:
Delaphine Breesri A.K.A Della Age: Nine Quick Summary of Looks: Average height with watery, sky-gray eyes and wiry red-brown
hair. Relationship: Della and Anitha are extremely close. Ever since Anitha taught Della to read, they have been closer
than sisters. Anitha never thinks Della is annoying, because Della isn't as dependent as her other sisters, so she can do
her own thing without needing Anitha. Della asked Anitha to teach her how to steal, so that brings them closer.
Appearance:
Anitha has a heart-shaped face, her stubborn chin downsized by her long, jet-black hair, often tied in a loose bun at
the nape of her neck, which often falls out before midday. Her large eyes are a deep brown ((they are melted chocolate looking,
but Anitha is a commoner, and chocolate was very expensive then, so she doesn't know what chocolate looks like. But if she
did, her eyes would be called a chocolate-y color.)) and show her every emotion, no matter how blank her face is. Her ears
are slightly pointed at the top, instead of rounded, a feature she is quite proud of, because it makes her different from
everybody else. Although, it also makes her different from her family, since she is the only one with them. Her lips are dark
pink and curve upwards naturally. Her clear skin isn't brown, but it is more tanned than it should be, a bronze color. The
way she looks has made her think that maybe her father was a Yamani, but her mother isn't telling. Anitha isn't fat, but
she isn't as skinny as her sisters are. She has slightly pronounced curves, making her seem a few years older than she is.
She is maybe an inch taller than average height, helping the theory that she is older to strangers. Her hands are long
and slender, with short nails because she can't kick the habit of biting them. Anitha's arms are slightly muscular; the same
goes for her legs. Her left front tooth is chipped from a fight. Anitha is considered pretty to some people, it depends
on if the person has been introduced to her temper.
Clothing: Anitha will not wear breeches. She just will
not. Instead she will wear dresses where the skirt is slightly too big, so she can move around easier. Her dresses are often
practical, she owns one dress, handed down from Mary, that is pretty enough to wear the day she gets married. She likes to
go barefoot, but when she must wear shoes, she wears worn-out, ankle high boots, with a compartment that she tore in the side
for a small dagger.
Personality: Anitha has two personalities: when she is comfortable and when she is threatened.
When she is with her friends, at the shop, or in another familiar place, she is chatty, friendly, fun to be around. She laughs
easily, and is pretty care-free. She isn't one of those people who are shy if they don't know you, she will get you to warm
up to her, not the other way around. She has a roguish ((please don't mind the pun!)) sense of humor, and flirts with everybody,
in a friendly way. She is quick-witted. When Anitha feels threatened, you wouldn't be able to recognize her. Her normally
revealing face is stone-hard, except for her eyes, which show all. She shuts up, not saying a word, and glares like looks
could kill. She becomes instantly defensive and her temper flares up. Anitha can also be serious. When she is that way,
she is quiet and slightly worried, no matter what the problem is. She has an intangible quality in the air about her, which
is much different than her normal self.
Strengths: Anitha's strengths, in her eyes, are pretty common. The
only thing she is proud of is her heealing skills. She is a very good healer, better than all her sisters, and her gift is
a dull, bloody red, kind of burgundy, color. She can make people laugh easily, and she knows everything about everyone, being
great at noticing the small stuff and remembering details. She is good at dagger fighting, having learned it from Mary a few
years back. Although she pestered and pestered her, Mary wouldn't tell where she learned it, only saying that "girls should
know how to protect themselves". Though she would hate to admit it, is a very fast reader, memorizing every bit of information
in the script. She learned from her mother when she was five, as part of her training to be a hedgewitch, since part of being
a hedgewitch is learning new spells, so she had to know how to read. All her sisters were taught as well, even if they didn't
have the Gift. Once her mother taught her, she was instantly good at it and enjoyed it. She was the one who taught Della.
She can also leave everything just the way it was, good for when she sneaks into Mary's stuff.
Weaknesses: Anitha's
biggest weakness is that she is reckless. Often going with her gut, she plunges into dangerous situations, not steeping back
for ten seconds to see if it is safe. She, if angry, will and would talk disrespectfully to anyone, even nobles (if she ever
met one). She only feels guilty and apologizes for what she said if someone, a friend of hers, shows obvious hurt at what
she said. If not, even if she is punished, she'll still retort back to whatever happened, then storm away scornfully. She
feels glad that she stood up for herself, even if she leaves with a few bruises here and there. She can never control her
feelings, and, try as she might, can not learn to be polite to those she must be polite to. She would, if given the chance,
march right up to the palace and bang on the doors without a second glance if aggravated with a law. She is also terrified
of bees, since she is deathly allergic. When she was two, a bee stung her and her throat closed up, her arms burst out in
hives, and she almost died. The only reason why she didn't was the fast action of her mother's healing remedy. Whenever a
bee is near her, her eyes grow wide and she wouldn't move if they were handing out free money in the street. This is especially
bad in the summer, when sweet herbs and fragrances attract the stinging fiends into the shop.
History: Anitha
is the second oldest in a family of four girls. She was born and raised in her mother's little shop in Corus, never setting
foot on any other land, not even any other city. She had an arranged marriage with a merchants son, but he died from the Sweating
Fever. She has no past, in her eyes, and no future. She thinks she is doomed to spend the rest of her life healing people
and fetching stuff for costumers. She hates the fact that she doesn't have a future. She wants to be able to do something,
to help Tortall, to be known, but she is just a hedgewitch's daughter, not meant for anything else but to serve others. She
considered being in the Riders when she turned fifteen, but she knows her mother and sisters need her. She desperately tries
to find something she can do to make a name for herself, but she can't find it.
What is your character most ashamed
of? Although Anitha loves her mother to death, she is most ashamed of her. All of her sisters come from different fathers,
and none of them know any of them. Anitha hates the scornful glares she gets when she is seen with her sisters, because none
of them look alike. Her last name, though she is proud of being "Bree's Daughter" makes people automatically look down on
her, like she is unworthy of their pureness. And, if anything makes Anitha more angry, it is people who are rude and acting
superior.
What makes your character unique? Anitha is unique in her way of thinking. She can process information
from years ago and pull it into her daily life. When she hears something that shocks her, she can think about it, yet still
chat with the person about meaningless stuff. She thinks in the distorted way that most commoners think of nobles, yet she
gives everybody a chance. Well, not everybody. The only person she doesn't give a chance is herself. She was always taught,
being a woman and a bastard ((If you don't want me to describe her as that, I won't. It's only because that is how TP says
it, but I do know it isn't the greatest term. Just tell me if you'd rather I not have her refer to herself as that.)) that
she was unworthy. It makes her angry, but the seed of doubt is always planted in her mind.
Why is your character
coming to the Inn? Stealing, though her mother looks down on it, comes naturally to Anitha. She can easily judge an items
value from a distance, and the extra food on the table and money in the shop till doesn't hurt her. She wasn't perfect at
it, but luckily, she can run fast. Nowadays though, she doesn't get caught to often, but she tries not to get too cocky, or
else she knows she could easily fall into the hands of the Lord Provost. She is just a pickpocket, ever since she understood
that a "accident-on-purpose" bump into someone could relieve them of their purse. The extra money helps her and her family
not have such a hard life. Although Anitha isn't familar with the Inn itself, she knows enough about Corus to know that the
Rogue is there somewhere.
